Listen to some beautifully damaged pop music from The Lemons & The Gooch Palms (Minneapolis show TONIGHT!)
In an age of Pro Tools and Garage Band, where even the neighbor kids covering Creed songs can record an EP for Bandcamp that sound “professional,” it takes a special kind of person to make lo-fi, damaged pop music. Luckily, there are still heroes out there making the music equivelent of selling a ripped, hole-ridden t-shirt in a world of designer boutiques. Two bands soldiering on in this quest for frayed edged will be gracing the equally less-than-perfect confines of the Hexagon Bar tonight, as The Gooch Palms (Australia) and The Lemons (Chicago) will be joined by local kindred spirits Real Numbers and Frankie Teardrop for what should be a great show. Listen to somewhat recent material from the two touring bands below to get a sense of their quirky output, and support a great lineup tonight by buying their music and getting drinks from the band side at the Hex.
