Goldberg: “Hollywood” / Reissue
Back in 1974 Barry Thomas Goldberg was a Minneapolitan musician freshly departed from his pop band The Batch. Feeling somewhat directionless and culturally adrift, Goldberg recorded his first solo album which he titled Misty Flats. It was a contemplative, brooding selection of songs and the limited pressing of 500 copies was quickly lost to obscurity. Strangely enough, his only partner in creating Misty Flats happened to be Michael Yonkers, who himself released several excellent but unheard albums around the same era. And much like Yonkers before him, Goldberg (who still lives in the Cities) is finally getting the reissue treatment: Misty Flats is being repressed for the first time by British label Light in the Attic. You can stream single “Hollywood” off of the record below and if you dig it you can hear more/purchase here.
