Introducing: Bad Bad Hats w/ their campy video “Shame” (Show TONIGHT!)
Bad Bad Hats have been gaining some steam locally and beyond since their latest release, the full length Psychic Reader, came out a few months back on Afternoon Records. The focus of the trio’s sound is undoubtably lead singer Kerry Alexander’s crystalline, plaintive vocals, but their whole sound belies their young ages. Backed by Chris Hoge (drums), and Noah Boswell (Bass), the group creative slightly fuzzy but mostly sugary pop music that will appeal to people who like their pop music to lean towards the stadium-chasing grandeur of bands like Metric. It is a sound that feels both youthful and innocent while giving the impression that the rough edges have been sanded out with the clear intention of getting their music in front of large audiences. To that regard, the group are on a national tour right now with Mynabirds, with a stop tonight at the 7th Street Entry.
Sample the bands sound above via the quirky video for “Shame,” which plays off the meme on the internet showing people who seem overabundantly fascinated with their salads. Psychic Reader is out now via Afternoon Records. You can listen to and buy the full album HERE.
