Introducing: Nancy’s Raygun with their fuzzy ‘friends’ EP (Release show TONiGHT!)
Nancy’s Raygun make frayed, fuzzy garage-pop that sounds like mix between Arctic Monkeys and the 2000’s garage rock revival that saturated our eardrums with a million bands starting with “The”. Greasy beats, guitar licks warped through crackling speakers and vocals buried under a layer of effects, it is a combination of sweet and salty that chugs forward through six iterations of the garage-fuzz playbook. Never getting too lost in the noise, the songs are tight and melodic, but with an edge that keeps you engaged. Their friends EP, which you can stream below, came out in August, but because First Avenue couldn’t keep their roof from collapsing, they have to postpone their release show until tonight (Sat. 10/3). Dig into the EP below and see the band tonight with a great lineup featuring France Camp, Bruise Violet and Cherry Cola. Lots of rock to be had.
