Ripper are scuzzy punk band from Minneapolis who have the kind of energy and vigor that seems hard to even comprehend when you become old like me. You can listen below to “On the Curb,” the first song released from their new five-song “A.D.” EP. The song is a beautiful mess of power chords, angular guitar lines and rhythms that feel like they could fall off the rail at any time. What makes this song so great is that below the fuzz and chaos is a cherry bomb of a melody, one delivered in the kind of kiss-off that feels like a sugar rush to the head. The band will be celebrating the release of their Lawn Chair Records released EP this Friday at the Triple Rock Social Club with a solid lineup featuring Deleter, Murder Shoes and Cherry Cola.
