Introducing: Uranium Club’s manic post-punk (Show TONIGHT!)
Uranium Club make the kind of unhinged, cryptic, off-the-wall post-punk that allow for the genre to constantly be brought back to life by new generations. Tightly wound guitar lines and skittish rhythms clash with irreverent vocals that fall closer to shouting than singing. You can stream their whole 7 song debut above, which has been printed and sold out in various formats a couple times now. It is a stirringly confident slab of slacker genius, an amalgamation of talent and attitude that can’t be bought or polished in a studio. See the music in the flesh below via an old Radio K clip, and then catch them live tonight at the Turf Club Clowne Lounge with Jamie Carrera and Obchod Na Korze. They have the world at their feet, but you probably shouldn’t assume you’ll have unlimited times to check out the band. They seem as likely to spit on their chance at fame as they do catapulting to riches, even if it would be well-deserved.
