Itch Princess: “Easy To Forget” / Show Tonight
Itch Princess is the solo project of local musician Katelyn Farstad (whose long resume contains work in Larry Wish, Tips for Twat, RENO, and many more). She makes experimental electronic music that she’s labeled “sadcore drudge ballads.” To that end she employs an idiosyncratic array of sounds by way of beats and her own layered vocals. On single “Easy to Forget” the result is a hypnotic sound that ethereal while also maintaining a kind of twitchy pulse. Finger cymbals lend a touch of exotica. Its definitely an interesting sound, and one that makes for a good pairing with RONiiA whom Farstad opens for tonight at Icehouse.
