Introducing: The post-punk of Pale Spectre’s debut CS (Release show TONIGHT!)

The easy answer to describe locals Pale Spectre is that their sound is “dark post-punk,” but their six-song CS Principles & Faculties (No Problem Records) explores more than just mining Joy Division. The songs have the driving, melodic churn you would expect, but venture into Television-esqe angular guitar noodling and twisted, effect-laden guitar pop. You can listen to album closer “A Song To My Dearest and Most Scornful of Lovers” below and, if you dig, you can help the group celebrate the release tonight at the Triple Rock Social Club. Joining the band will be fellow travelers WAVELESS, Gloss(MN) and The Chambermaids. More info/RSVP HERE.
