Local music heads have seen MPLS Guitars around town (notably in the hands of The Blind Shake), so it makes sense that the first installment of the guitar maker’s video series features the local noise punks. The series, called “Transmissions from Another Dimension,” sound like they will be a ongoing feature, and if the first crack is any indication, they will be a really great look into our local music scene. Speaking of the Blind Shake, their constant hustle soldiers on with the imminent release of their LP Celebrate Your Worth, which is dropping on the great Goner Records. You can listen to a bunch of songs from the record (and buy it on vinyl) below. The group is celebrating all of this wonderful news with a record release show tomorrow (Saturday 11/29) at the 7th Street Entry with Fury Things and Tongue Party. It also will serve as the end of the line for their drummer, who is stepping away from the band as he is starting a family. The show Saturday will be Dave Roper’s last show, with Karl Tebeest stepping in as the new drummer for the band. Best of luck to Dave and his family!
