Introducing: Citric Dummies
If you are the kind of fella or fellette that likes your punk simple, brutal, hilarious, and about a minute long, boy do we have the band for you. Citric Dummies are a brand new Twin Cities trio that we know nothing about other than they have put up a new bandcamp page featuring their album Life Is So Horrifying. You can stream all eight terrific hardcore-infused blasts which feature names like “Someone’s Living in the Bathroom (It’s Me)” and “Piss on my Brain.” While the titles imply that these guys plainly aren’t taking themselves too seriously, the tunes are actually great. Each one explodes out of the gate in a flurry of guitar distortion, frantic rhythms, and a shouted catchphrase. The inertia lasts about sixty seconds before it screeches to a halt and the next song begins. It sounds both incredibly entertaining as well as exhausting. Find out just how much so at one of their next two upcoming shows: 11/9 at the Seward Cafe or 11/16 at Palmer’s.
