Introducing blinds / EP Release Show
Local trio blinds will release their second EP in as many years this Winter. Some Thing for No Thing will drop at the end of the month (1/26) and it should come as a great new years gift to fans of gritty, lo fi, alternative rock (a genre we’re not hearing as much from these days). blinds pull in influences from a number of sources, from the no fi grunge tapes of the early nineties, blues-influenced hard rock, as well as moody post punk. You can hear the genres coming together nicely in EP standout “Pretend Life,” which sounds a bit like a stripped down version of Kings of Leon (whom the band names as a strong influence). What the band does they do it well – members Case Shannon (The Set) Garrison grouse (Black Diet, What Tyrants) and Malcolm Browne (The Set) have been playing music long enough that they sound like they’re not so much finding their sound as they are perfecting it. You can hear the new songs for yourself at the 7th St. Entry release show (sponsored by Modist Brewing) which will also feature Ahem and Private Interests. Get tix here.
