Stream Dreamland Faces’ “Icebreaker” / Release Show Tonight
Local duo Dreamland Faces have been an often unheralded treasure of the Twin Cities musical canon for a number of years. They have created the scores to many silent films as well as released 9 albums of original music. Tonight will mark the tenth of such. Dreamland Faces (which consists of accordionist Karen Majewicz and multi instrumentalist Andy McCormick) will release their newest record Icebreaker tonight with a show at the Cedar Cultural Center (tix). Icebreaker was recorded live, and contains work from the pair’s scores to two films, Shackleton and Demolition Dreaming. You can stream the whole thing below – like the band’s past work it strongly evokes a flickering, sepia-toned, vintage era.
