Shitkid: “Sugar Town”
At 2 months released, Swedish artist Shitkid’s EP 2 is already old news I suppose. I am still having trouble moving on. Every time I feel like I’m ready I hear “Sugar Town” play on the radio and like that, i’m sucked back in. Shitkid is Åsa Söderqvist, a young punk who takes the Nancy Sinatra classic, strips it down to a few chords, and gives it a kind of nihilistic swagger. Söderqvist’s self-released EP 2 came out a couple months ago and she’s already set to follow it up with a full length LP Fish which will come out on June 2 (available for pre-order here).
