Listen to glossy synth-pop of Cheap Fantasy’s new EP (Show TONIGHT!)
Cheap Fantasy is the nom de plume of Jordan Bleau, an artist local fans will recognize from recently disbanded garage pop band Frankie Teardrop. On debut EP Life of Glass, Cheap Fantasy stumble through the glow of nostalgic synth pop that will give you some John Hughes warm fuzzies (and maybe at times remind you of the Drive soundtrack). The short, five-song collection is chalk full of rich melodies, snapping snare drums, hazy vocals and mountains of synths. Stream/buy the EP below and see the band tonight with Posh Lost and fellow synth-revivers Claps at the Triple Rock Social Club (9pm, $6) before Cheap Fantasy hits the road for a tour.
