Har-Di-Har are a husband and wife duo of Julie and Andrew Thoreen who create intricate, layered, kinetic chamber pop. The result is an arresting and beautiful amalgamation of the choral side of indie pop music, which you can sample above via their track “the wonder.” The song comes from the duo’s debut full-length album, “we will will you,” which you can stream and buy via a link below to their bandcamp page.
To celebrate the record, they are pulling together a seven-piece band for a release show this Friday at Icehouse, which also will see them joined by Trombone Band, a self-described “avant-electro-punk-brass band.” I imagine bringing these songs to life on stage isn’t a small feat, but it seems like they’ll have a small army at their disposal to make it happen. Should be pretty cool. Check out the whole album and buy it on vinyl or cd over at their bandcamp page.
Joining Har-Di-Har at Icehouse will be elle pf (FKA Bae Tigre) and Twin Cities dance company, Hiponymous. Find more info and RSVP to the show HERE.
