Introducing: Engine Summer
Summer Engine are a three-piece out of Chicago that delivers off-kilter punk rock via a combination of Nuggets-era psych/garage rock, 70’s art-punk, and modern-day adrenaline. They recently released their sophomore record, Trophy Kids, which is damn good. It’s got everything you need: screamy vocal harmonies, crazy guitar licks, a shoutout to 90’s TV drama “Dawson’s Creek.” That’s right, it checks all the checkboxes on your list. Even better, Engine Summer will be passing our way on January 12th, playing at the Nomad World Pub with Total Gaze (Info here). You can stream Trophy Kids in its entirety below, buy it, or just wait for the show and give these guys a wad of cash.
