Coach Said Not To Reunite for Throwback Performance With Zibra Zibra
No, this is not a show listing from 2006. This month, former darlings of the TC music scene Coach Said Not To and Zibra Zibra will both be returning to the stage for a rare performance.
Technically ZZ hasn’t really gone anywhere but has been sporadically active, recording an album as recently as 2013 and releasing previously unheard work in 2015.
CSNT, however, have been quite inactive. Guitarist Eva Mohn moved to Sweden in 2012 though I don’t recall specifically when the group officially disbanded. The last show I can remember seeing was in 2007.
For fans of either or both of these bands though it should be quite a blast from the past. Zibra Zibra has an amped up synthpop sound and used to put on a pretty energetic stage show. CSNT had kind of a melancholy pop rock sound that featured the Mohn sisters (Linnea as well as the aforementioned Eva) trading vocal duties with Annika Johnson and Lee Violet on drums and keys respectively.
The show will take place on 2/13 at Icehouse (tickets available here and more information here).
