Listen to latest music from The Black Angels & The Black Lips before their show at 1st Ave tonight
Despite similar names, The Black Angels and The Black Lips venture into different areas of garage rock and roll. The Black Lips are the more 50’s garage rock, with a bit more snark added to the equation. The Black Angels are heavier and more serious, and pack a more 70’s psych-fuzz punch. Both are known for their live shows (again, for slightly different reasons) but are touring together right now, with a stop in Minneapolis tonight at 1st Ave. Listen to some hazy rock from The Black Angels above, off their 2017 Death Songs LP, and listen to some bubblegum garage from The Black Lips, from their 2017 Satan’s graffiti or God’s art?
