Soak up some great new shoegaze/psych from locals Chatham Rise’s forthcoming LP (Show with Brian Jonestown Massacre Saturday!)
Chatham Rise are a band Twin Cities music fans will already be familiar with, but judging from the first samples off their forthcoming Meadowsweet< LP, they may be branching out to a wider audience soon. You can sample a couple great new songs below, which highlight the bands lush take on psych rock & shoegaze. The music is hazy, but still rich in melody. Over the five songs you can check out now, the music is full of textural drones, effect-drenched guitars and foggy melodies, but throughout the cacophony of sound the band never let the songwriting wane. It captures sound and feeling, never losing one to benefit the other.
