Video: Ruby Boots’ “Believe In Heaven” / Show Thursday
Ruby Boots (real name Bex Chilcott) didn’t take the traditional road to Nashville. Her route started in Perth, Australia and made many stops around the globe before ending up in Music City (including a stint working on pearling boats which makes her a bit of a badass).
Along the way she picked up a number of influences that she has formed into her sound, a powerful blend of rock, punk, and country. And if that genre trio usually makes you cringe as much as it makes me cringe, rest assured that Chilcott actually has the stuff to pull it off without sounding ridiculous.
Her newest album Don’t Talk About It is out now via Bloodshot Records and her tour touches our shores tomorrow evening when she’ll be performing at the 7th St. Entry (Tix / Info).
