Iceblink: “Wisht”
All I really know about local producer/band Xylophone Jetty is that I freakin’ loved their remix of Finesse’s “Unbroken Memory” last year. It turns out that Xylophone Jetty’s Lynn Avery also records with trio Iceblink whom I know even less about except, get this, I really freakin’ love one of their songs.
“Wisht” is a really unique amalgamation of what sounds to me like baroque chamber folk, haunting dream pop, and just a little bit of accordion for spice. According to the band’s bio they draw inspiration from Italian film scores, radiophonics, hauntology, and experimental electronics. Not knowing what all of those things are, I can only assume that they add up to awesome music (which is what this is). Check out the tune below and follow the band here.
