Introducing the Jangly Power Pop of Proud Parents (Show Saturday!)
Hailing from Madison’s busy (and overlapping) garage punk scene, Proud Parents were born out of the long-time friendship of Claire Nelson-Lifson and Tyler Fassnacht (Fire Heads, The Hussy). Adding drummer Heather Sawyer (The Hussy) and later on bassist Maggie Denman, the band has a few cassettes behind them as they release their debut full-length on Dirtnap Records.
With three singers and songwriters, Proud Parents brings together three different voices in a unified vision. All three bounce around each other, providing plenty of backing vocals and harmonies in standout tracks like “Something To Talk About” and “Baby.” Proud Parents is 12 tracks of delightfully sunny, jangly garage pop just in time for your summer. Catch them in town tomorrow night and enjoy!
