Video: Lizea Harper’s “Fire Escape”
Lizea Harper is a young up-and-coming hip hop Minneapolis artist. She’s already got a couple of albums under her belt, last year’s Dive as well as 2015 EP Build New. Harper recently released a video for new track “Fire Escape” which she describes as being about “the moment of realization, and instant collapse, of a fantasy mistaken as love.” It’s a familiar concept to anyone who has ever fallen into that trap (see: everyone). In Harper’s talented hands, she personalizes the trope and makes it resonate through skillful rapping/singing (aided by excellent production from BMBU). Mercies May directed the purple-tinged video. No word on whether this will be part of an upcoming full length release but you can keep tabs on further news via Harper’s site.
