Amen Dunes: “Believe” / Show Monday
I will be totally honest – up until recently I never really forged much of a connection to Amen Dunes’ music, for whatever reason. That has changed this year though with the release of the artist’s fifth full length record, Freedom, which is almost undoubtedly one of the year’s best. It’s tough to listen to the melancholy, slacker-psych rock single “Believe” and not be swept away with the sad, cryptic imagery of Damon McMahon’s lyricism. It should be mesmerizing to hear live, and we’ll get a chance to do so this coming Monday at the 7th St. Entry where Amen Dunes headlines (tix/info).
