RIP Aretha Franklin || Listen to some of our favorite tracks from the Queen of Soul

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, died Thursday at age 76 from pancreatic cancer according to the AP. To honor her massive legacy, we are posting a few of our favorite tracks from her storied career. If you want to add something feel free to do so in the comments. RIP Aretha.

The hook on “Freeway of Love” was proof that Aretha was the stone coldest of players. Talking about a freeway of love, AND doing it in a pink Cadillac!? Your favorite down south player could never. – Ali

Yeah, it may be one of Franklin’s best known singles. It will always be one of my favorites due to it A. being a great song and B. appearing in this iconic Blues Brothers scene. I think all renditions of the song should start with “I got two honkies out there dressed like Hasidic diamond merchants.” – Jon

So many to choose from. The earth-shattering live gospel album. The genre-defining hits. The ballads that shake you to your teeth. Yet I always come back to this strange, tempo-shifting, funky-yet-absract jam that brings a smile to my face every time I hear it. – Josh
