Introducing: The scuzzy punk of Groove Domestic Product (Tape release show SATURDAY!)
Groove Domestic Product’s new self-titled CS is six songs of gnarly, wirey music that walks the line between snotty punk and polished power pop. These songs will be ragers live, but they are complex and decorous enough to make for a record that will reward multiple listens. To their credit, their music has a feel that is quickly evident, but there is enough going on to make it impossible to totally pin down their sound. They unfurl some big melodies that, when mixed with a healthy swagger, make for a record that avoids any paint-by-numbers traps that many bands can fall into. It’s a great tape and make me excited to hear more from them.
The band have a tape release show Saturday night at the Eagles Club, where they will be joined by IV, Jeez Louise (Chicago) and Mentira (Kansas City). Find out more info about the show HERE.
