Local soul/R&B singer Lady Midnight, a powerhouse who in the last few years has released an excellent mixtape and the great Parables of Neptune LP with Afro-Keys, is back with the first song off her forthcoming Death Before Mourning LP. You can listen below to “P((o))WR,” which she explained is an examination of the endless and necessary work of women. Like her previous work, it is smart, soulful and commanding. Over a textured canvass of minimalist R&B, it’s a powerful introduction to her new record. We’re excited to hear the whole LP, which will drop in late April on Sound Verite Records.
