Wolf Blood: ““Story of a Drowning Man” / New Record This Spring
Minneapolis quartet Wolf Blood are one of the heaviest things to hit the scene in recent memory. They parlay colossally malefic doom and thrash metal and they are so good at doing so that one has to wonder at what supernatural and malignant source they drawn their powers from.
The band will self release their sophomore record II this June (the follow up to 2014’s excellent self-titled debut). A single from the album, “Story of a Drowning Man,” was recently released and should help set the tone: it starts on a slow fused doom dirge that ratchets up over the course of nearly eight minutes to a calamitous and wrathful explosion of guitar, beats, and mournful vocals.
Keep an eye on Wolf Blood’s bandcamp page for pre-order details. You can start ordering on 5/1 and the will be released on limited edition blue, magenta and black Aside/Bside mix vinyl limited to 250 copies.
The band’s release show will be at Mortimer’s on June 13th (details)
