Video: Cross Record’s “The Fly” / Fall Show
Back in 2016 Cross Record released one of my favorite albums (if not top) of the year in Wabi Sabi. I am very excited to report that they just announced that they will release their self-titled follow up this Summer (8/2 via Ba Da Bing)! The first single “The Fly” recently dropped which you can listen to above.
Vocalist and songwriter Emily Cross has stated that her new material is informed by her role as a “death doula,” so I expect that themes of mortality will be prevalent (interesting side note: Cross Record’s upcoming tour will also also contain some “living funeral‘ ceremonies). That tour will touch the Twin Cities on September 15th when the band visits Moon Palace Books for what promises to be an excellent show!
