Jim Byron: The most prolific musician in Minneapolis you’ve never heard about (until now).
Meet Jim Byron, a Minneapolis musician who’s released an amazing 20 albums since 2018. The late Barry Spacks, poet laureate of Santa Barbara, had this to say about this talented performer:
“Dylan’s back, but this time he’s Jameson, aka Jim Byron, who sounds like Youth Spirit incarnate (akin not only to Bob but also Conor Oberst and Daniel Johnston). A kindly soul, likely candidate for the spokesman for his generation, maniac of invention, generating new songs or poems during any good week, his lyrics manage brilliance and innocence with a poignant voice sure to mess up your heart.” – Barry Spacks
A real hidden talent in the Twin Cities, Jim’s most recent releases, “A Simulation of Rome” and “Faraway Girl” are both lyrically infectious, relevant collections of songs that deserve your attention and can be streamed below. Jim will be playing a live set next week at Bullwinkle’s Open Mic on Tuesday July 23rd at 9pm.
