Introducing: The Breezy, Somber Indie Pop of Palm Friends (EP Release Show TONIGHT!)
On their new Forged Artifacts release Nice Weather EP, Palm Friends make the kind of breezy, jangly guitar pop that invokes a multitude of feelings for the listener. The group blend an emotional heaviness with light, meandering, effect-laden guitar lines that seem to float through the speakers. It is a brand of “smart” guitar rock where “smart” is a euphemism for sounding world weary. You can sample their sound via the song “Governor” on their bandcamp page below. That is also the place to buy and listen to the whole EP when it drops on August 16th.
If you like what you hear, you can help Palm Friends celebrate their new album tonight at the Kitty Cat Klub for their EP release show. They’ll be joined by Prim Woes and Good Doom for this free show. It’s the Kitty Cat Klub, so it is guaranteed to start sometime before 2am. More details HERE.
