Introducing: Delilah Fang / RIP Delilah Fang
We don’t often promote bands who have no recorded music to sample but local quintet Delilah Fang are a special case. The band has only existed since June and will cease it’s brief life at the end of August.
Delilah Fang germinated as the product of local musician Betty Taylor spending a Minnesota winter writing songs at the conclusion of which she (naturally) decided to move to California. Before she went though Taylor wanted to get the chance to play her songs with a band. So she rapidly assembled a cast of four others, booked some studio time to record their debut/final album, and attempted to play as many shows as possible (the final of which will be the band’s album release on 8/25, just a day prior to Taylor’s departure from the state).
Can’t give you much more than that other than that the band is made up of Taylor (lead vox, guitar), Tanner Groehler (lead guitar, vox), Kyle Koch (keys), Alyse Emanuel (drums, vox), and Lee Carter (bass). They describe their sound as combining “dreamy pop melodies with modern riffs and rhythms to create sweet, bubbly ballads with thought-provoking themes.” For any more you will have to come out to the release show which takes place at the Entry (info/tix here).
