Just In Time for Halloween The Mighty American Cream Band Return With Spooky New Song/Video “Releasing Spiders”
American Cream Band are the delightfully amorphous, rotating cast of Twin Cities musicians who have created some of Minnesota’s most zonked-out psych/krautrock over the last decade. The group have released a scattered collection of great tapes and albums over the years (explore their adventures on their Bandcamp page) while sharpening their trade in what seems like every venue in the Twin Cities. Despite their changing lineups, their sound always has a powerful churn and brooding ambience that has made them a band I always am excited to hear where they are taking their sound. The band returned this week with the song and video for “Dark Hemisphere,” which comes off a forthcoming album on Moon Glyph records. The song features the band’s usual synth, snake rattler groove and haunted atmospherics. The vocals are more melodramatic than a lot of their stuff, but otherwise it fits comfortably into their cannon. The video that you can watch above is a witches brew of creepiness and suspense that is perfect to roll out on Halloween. No specific date yet for the full album, but it is promised in late 2019, so we won’t have to wait too long. Happy Halloween!
