Introducing: Lucid World’s Sun in Days
If androids dream of electric sheep I would bet that their soundtracks sound something like Lucid World.
The latest output from Minneapolis composer, guitarist, cutie-pie Amit Michael straddles the line between the heart and the mainframe to great effect. While more subdued than previous projects like Surgery At the Hands of Machines, the soundscape tapestries of Sun in Days still pulse along with swagger and swing.
Tracks like “Holding On” have a keening sensibility, celebrating the corporeal with synthetic sensuality. Lush production can’t keep that fuzzed out guitar from piercing through the ether from time to time, tho, like on “Kora”. I could always use more of that (just sayin’).
So instead of cuing up the Ghostbusters this spooky season, I suggest engaging Lucid World for all your exorcistic needs this autumn.
