Atlas Kept His Gripes To Himself and Did His Job: Heavy Minnesota Music – Show Announcement: Blackthorne (Record Release), Hive, Burning, and Feral Light|Saturday, Jan. 11th @Moon Palace Books
Blackthorne have been very busy these last two years, working at varying levels of apparent fanaticism augmented by long stretches of silence. Inaction? Hells-fucking-nah, by the look of things. While the band has made their debut LP available since October of last year, they are ready to officially set it loose upon the world.
An eighteen minute melting pot of thrash, punk, death metal, and progressive politics, Blackthorne (the LP) comes with a bit more meat on its bones than its cassette counterpart from 2018, sporting 5 new tracks like “Sickened Generation” and “Fiending For the Anxious”.
For those who keep track of that sort of thing, this release is a collaborative effort by Blackthorne singer Travis Alan Bos’s Damien Records and: Nefarious Industries, JEMS, and 5nakefork Records. Standard copies of the vinyl may be procured through any of the aforementioned labels’ websites (color pressings are long gone), or from the group themselves. There are still ten test pressings available housed in unique (limited) colored packaging.
These are just a few of the wicked wonders you’ll get if you come out to Moon Palace Books (3032 Minnehaha Boulevard) this Saturday, January 11th. Infantry will be provided by a local brigade consisting of Hive, Burning, and Feral Light. $5 door admission at 9 PM, so take a nap beforehand. You’re gonna be ragin’ all night, gus.
