Video: Bill Nace’s “Both, Part 7”
If you are looking for a heavy, introspection-inducing sound to help ponder these dark times we’re living through, look no further than the work of Philadelphia experimental guitarist (and other half of Body/Head to Kim Gordon) Bill Nace.
Nace has a record of solo guitar recordings, Both, coming from Drag City May 22nd. You can check out a tune from it, “Part 7” above. The track (and everything else I have heard from the forthcoming record thus far) is a mesmerizing wash of staccato guitar awash in reverberation and feedback that kind of sounds like it’s echoing off of the insides of your skull.
It’s a very singular sound and a pretty awesome one at that. Just don’t let the somber vibe take you too far down the rabbit hole.
