Cole Pulice, Saxophonist with Iceblink, Explores Ambient Soundscapes on Solo Album ‘Gloam’

Local group Iceblink created one of my favorite local albums of the year with the outstanding Carpet Cocoon that they released on Moon Glyph records in January. Shortly after that release, Cole Pulice, who plays sax in Iceblink, released a solo CS titled Gloam that serves as a great companion to Carpet Cocoon. Expanding even further into floating ambient sounds, Gloam is a circular soundscapes that Pulice recorded live without overdubs. It is a haunting collection of mediative sounds from an artist who also played with Bon Iver, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mild High Club and others. Especially in these troubling times, it’s a great record to put on and let the sounds wash over you.
