Watch and Listen to Two Songs Off American Cream’s Forthcoming ‘Plastic Flame’ LP
Local space-jazz-noise-krautrock collective American Cream can be hard to nail down, as they shape shift and evolve from gig to gig (often literally, with different members rotating around Nate Nelson), so it’s always interesting to see where things land when their exploratory sound finds its way onto tape. The band recently announced that their latest offering, Plastic Flame, will be dropping early in 2021, and they’ve shared a couple of tracks in anticipation.
Above you can watch a trippy video for the tweaked out mescaline-jazz of “Leather Report ’88” and below you can listen to the heavy ambient of “I am an Arrow” (the start actually reminded me of a druggy version of Sigor Rós). Similar vibes, but housed within much different spirit animals.
