Video: Greta Ruth’s “By Red Work”
Local experimental folk artist Greta Ruth has been a prolific video producer in support of her work, most recently featuring tunes from her excellent debut record The Fawn.
You can see videos for “The Waves” here or “Famine Months” here, and the latest installment “By Red Work” above. The new work features abundant symbolism – Ruth writhes on an old fashioned bed, pulls long red ribbons from her mouth, and addresses herself in the mirror (to name a few). It’s an evocative pairing with Ruth’s sparse lyricism, telling a story without really telling it.
You can stream/purchase all of The Fawn here (and we recommend you do).
