The world is heavy, and local duo DUG are here to soundtrack it. This isn’t an album to calm your nerves, or to make sense of the chaos. It is chaos. It is chugging, Sleep-esqe guitars, metallic drumming and enough noise to make you think you’re inside the engine of a 737. It has moments where it settles into something of a groove, lunging you forward with it’s spastic energy, but mostly it is brute force. Knowing the back story of where these guys came from paints some of the picture, but you don’t need much table settling: if you like stretched our dirges of punishing noise, this is for you.
