Listen to Some Mind-Bending Pysch Rock From Foam Giant (New Project from members of Flavor Crystals & The Telescopes)
When members of Flavor Crystals and Telescopes get together to make a “soundtrack to a film that was never made,” you know it’s going to get heavy. Both bands have deep catalogs of guitar-centric pysch music, and Acetate Parade, the new-ish LP from side project called Foam Giant, is going to fit nicely next to their previous work.
Wobbly, technicolor synths, chugging krautrock rhythms and lush, effect-soaked guitars weave together into a trippy, heavy effort. The 17-song record swells between burners and floaters, teasing and pushing through a mind-bending exploration of the far-reaches of the mind. It’s the kind of record that sounds good no matter where you play it, but listening to my (long-delayed) copy on vinyl drove home the richness of the collection, and the easiness of getting lost in this long, rewarding record.
You can listen and buy the record below. Unclear if they bands have any thoughts of doing any shows behind the record, but one can hope. This record is begging to be played live, loud and with some trippy visuals splashing across the stage. Until they we’ll all have to take the journey on our own. Dive in below.
