Shamir’s moody “Cold Brew” gets the live band treatment (Show Monday!)
The moody track “Cold Brew” is one of the standouts of Shamir’s excellent 2022 album Heterosexuality. Previewing the live band, the video finds them in a basement looking space, with the live instrumentation adding a great new dimension to the song. Shamir’s genre influences have melded from different directions in many releases over the past few years since he’s performed in town. Seeing the new material performed by a live band adds an even different dimension, so I’m excited to see what is done with the new album and hopefully some old favorites (2015’s “Demon” please).
