Introducing: Bloodline
Bloodline have to be a first for the Twin Cities: a trio of Brazilian-American siblings who happened to form a band together (in the upper Midwest of all places). They use both their heritage as well as their current musical tastes to forge their sound.
When I think of “Brazilian-influenced music” my mind immediately goes to Samba, Bossa Nova, or Tropicalia. Don’t expect to hear much of the country’s more iconoclastic musical styles in Bloodline’s work, however. The trio makes synth-heavy R&B/pop tunes that sound quite a bit more modern in terms of influence.
Check out their video for “Maybe” above and if you dig it you can check them out next at KJ’s Hideaway (I think formerly the Artist Quarter space) downtown Saint Paul on 11/18 (details here).
