Rap Duo Armand Hammer to Play Dakota Jazz Club / Stream Their Outstanding Albums Shrines and Haram
Armand Hammer are the hip hop duo centered around rappers billy woods and Elucid who have created two of the best albums of the 2020s. The duo stunned in 2020 with the outstanding Shrines and followed up less than a year later with 2021s somehow even better Haram. The music is dense and the raps the fluid and smart, seeming to top themselves song after song, giving listeners a product that you can listen to over and over and still find new gems. For local hip hop fans, the sound is like a darker Kill The Vultures, with dusty beats getting taken for the ride of their lives by gravely voiced MCs. You can stream and purchase both albums below.
The group will be playing Sunday night at the Dakota in Minneapolis, which is a great venue and intimate stage for their genre-crossing music. Opening is local hip hop stalwart The Lioness. Doors open at 5:30 with music starting at 7. You can find more info HERE.
