Stream IE single “Mel’s Hole” / New Record “Junk Body” Out Next Week

Local experimental drone/ambient group IE will release their latest album Junk Body next week (3/24). The new record was recorded during a time when drummer, Meredith Gill, reportedly began suffering from a series of rare diseases attacking her immune and neurological systems and connective tissues. As a result, the band began using slow and heavy beats as a source of transcendence; in their own words, “trying to cope with the challenges of living in a body, and trying to stretch beyond it.”
The new record purports to contain shades of country, doo wop, as well as stoner metal. You can perhaps hear a little of the country aspect in the gentle guitar strumming of terrific single “Mel’s Hole,” currently available to stream.
Pre-order the record here digitally or on vinyl. The release show will happen on 3/25 at Mirror-Lab (details here).
