Introducing: Cody Steinmann
Cody Steinmann is a Milwaukee transplant to our city that has been climbing in the local jazz scene over the past number of years. Known for his skills as both a player and educator, Steinmann showcases his versatility and musical exploration through his guitar playing. Steinmann has been releasing a string of singles since last year with the trio rhythm section of drummer Abinnet Berhanu and bassist Christ Bates. Each of the track releases captures a lot of different sides, from the calm dreamy clean tones of “Because I Think She’s Beautiful” to the propulsive rhythms and fuzzy guitar fusion on “Not Sappy At All”. All tracks were recorded live, capturing great energy from the trio and giving them all a great organic feel.
