Watch Portrayal Of Guilt’s “Devil Music” Short Film (Show Monday!)
Texas trio Portrayal of Guilt has had a busy six years as a band, dropping four albums and a whole slew of EPs and splits. From their more 90s screamo-influenced early days, the band keeps expanding on their sound in many different dimensions with each new release. Devil Music dropped back in April and offers even more new and exciting sounds. The 10-track album splits into two halves, from their more traditional heavy guitar sound in the first half, and then revisits the same songs as full-on dissonant orchestral chamber music full of strings and horns. To accompany the second half of the album, the band dropped a 15-minute short film as a preview right before the album’s release. The beautifully cinematic black-and-white film features knights, angels, and a lot more to really bring the beautiful dissonance of the second half of the album to life. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the band come through on a headlining tour, so don’t miss a stacked bill of heavy music tomorrow night!
