Watch the Video for Sid Sriram’s Soulful Ryan Olson Produced “The Hard Way” (Show Tomorrow!)
One of the surprise stand-out sets of last summer’s Totally Gross National Party was Sid Sriram, who going in I knew nothing about. It turns out Sid has over 2 million Instagram followers and is huge in the Indian Carnatic music world. In the last few years, he’s connected with Ryan Olson to work on what became his all-English language album Sidharth which came out on Def Jam last summer. The album combines Sid’s incredibly soulful vocal style with Olson’s production into a real showcase of both talents. At TGNP he was joined by a great (mostly local I think) band that added a great raw edge against his incredible vocals. Tomorrow night (3/2) kicks off his tour here so excited to see him crossover to a whole new audience.
