Mclusky Returns To Minneapolis after 20 Years with a new EP (Show Saturday!)
There are plenty of shows we all regret missing many years later. UK band mclusky’s 2004 7th Street Entry show has always been near the top of that list for me. The band broke up shortly after. I was able to catch post-mclusky band Future Of The Left once, but it was never quite the same. After an April 1st tour announcement in 2022 and unfortunate cancellation that year due to Andy Falkous’ tinnitus, mclusky has rescheduled and has been on the road in the US and thankfully upgraded to bigger venues.
Besides the reunion tour, the band also dropped a 4 song EP last September. “unpopular parts of a pig” is classic mclusky, noisy and aggressive while being catchy and dryly humourous. All 4 songs keep it under 4 minutes and fit right into the mclusky catalog like they never left.
You can catch them tomorrow night or spend your next few decades regretting this because I doubt there’s a 2044 tour in the works.
mclusky play First Avenue on Saturday (3/16/24) with opener Ganser. More information and tickets here.
