Introducing: The Thirsty Giants (Show Friday!)
By now you all should hopefully be well acquainted with KMSU’s Free Form Freakout show and podcast (and website while we’re at it). During COVID, FFF host David Perron’s son Holden picked up guitar and started writing songs. Joined by bassist Hunter Theisen and David himself on drums, the trio has been busy whenever Holden is back in town from college.
The Thirsty Giants pull from a wide range of classic punk sounds, touching on Misfits-esque (“Apathist”), gloomy sludge (“Dramamine”), Stooges swagger (“Man Of The People”), a Flipper cover (“Ever”) and a whole lot more. You can read a lot more of the story in a Mankato Free Press article and catch them this summer while they’re back in action.

The Thirsty Giants play the Pillar Forum Friday night (5/17) with The Silent Treatment and Blood Cookie. More info here.
